Holiday Social
Hearts were warm and eyes were bright during Sonia’s Annual Holiday Social, on Saturday, December 2. The evening began with an eloquently moving ballet vignette performed by young first-time performing dancers Hannah and Kennison, choreographed by ballet mistress Novella Brooks de Vita. Hot off the tail of the closing strains of the “Dark Waltz” came social boogie time and a hip hop number led by smooth criminal Brette Seffens, accompanied by her talented first-time performing students to a Grinch remix. First-time performing student D’Artagnan and instructor Sonia Farr brought to life a dramatic Argentine tango. Grace and precision ruled Sonia Farr’s waltz with first-time performer student Paul Fisher. There was a passionate American tango performed by student Ray Reynosa and Sonia. Instructor Victor Balan and student Constance Bradford also waltzed beautifully, floating delicately across the floor as if the wooden boards were made of clouds. Student Bob Ward and Sonia performed animated Cha Cha Cha and Jive numbers, and partygoers danced the rest of the night away on the studio floor. Performers walked away that night with lovely awards for their dedication and stellar performances. What a way to get into the holiday spirit!
